Jam & Cheese Kolaches
A kolach is a sweet pastry from Czech and Slovak traditions, featuring fruit or fillings like cheese, jam, or poppy seeds in puffy yeast dough. These work brilliantly with Yellow Road Bake-Stable Cheese Filling.
Yield: 14-16 kolaches

Ingredients
- Sweet Dough:
- 500 g All Purpose Flour
- 60 g Sugar
- 10 g Dry Yeast
- 1 Egg
- 40 g Soft Butter
- 1 tsp Salt
- 200 ml luke warm water (approx)
- Toppings:
- 200 g Yellow Road Bakestable Cheese Filling
- 100 g Strawberry Jam
Directions
- Mix altogether the dough ingredients to form a smooth dough
- Rest the dough at room temperature for 30 minutes
- Divide dough into balls weighing approximately 50 gms each
- Flatten each ball of dough and make indentions in the middle using a round lid
- Add desired fillings and rest at room temperature for another 30 minutes
- Egg wash the sides before baking.
- Bake at 180’C for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
